Posted on June 23, 2010 in Ford Trucks | Write a review

Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine is one of the proudest things for Ford and the automaker is not hesitant in admitting that they actually are proud of it. Though, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine currently is powering only some models including the Taurus SHO, Lincoln MKS, MKT and Flex, but we have the reports suggesting that soon the humongous Ford SVT Raptor R will also get a variant of this brawny power-generator.

What To Expect?

The sources from Ford have reported that the automaker will be offering the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine as the top-range engine on the Ford F-150 in the 2011 model year. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine powering the F-150 is expected to generate maximum power of 400 horsepower and maximum torque of 400 pound-feet. But you can expect the output torque and power figures for Raptor R, to be significantly higher. At present the Raptor R 6.2 generates maximum power of around 500 horsepower from its tailored edition of the Ford’s most recent V8 engine. So it’s pretty clear that Ford is not going to withhold the power in the no-holds-barred racing truck such as the Ford Raptor R.

We also have the reports suggesting that you might see the Ford Raptor R EcoBoost competing in this year’s Best In The Desert off-road racing series, in addition to the Baja 1000 later on this year. The one thing that we are assured about after getting all this news is that this clearly is one really brutal pickup truck for the people looking for desert storming. So if you are a power addict like us and are interested in the no-holds-barred pickup truck segment, then just wait till the Ford brings their 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine powered Raptor R. This will be a real treat for all the auto fanatics that have been waiting for a brutal desert storming pickup.
